My last day in NY felt instrumental to Dinah Washington’s “What a Difference a Day Made.” Making my way from a late lunch in the East Village to an early dinner near Grand Central and ending the night in Times Square, I managed to capture over 100 great photographs — with my personal favourites shared below.
Astor Place (or Cooper’s Square) & the neighbouring corner of “St. Marks Street” at 3rd Ave. are two of my favourite spots for capturing the more colourful characters of NYC.
I asked this interesting young lady to pose for a portrait after taking the following Snipe Shot.
A homeless woman interviewed by a couple of young reporters seems to tell a tale of conspiracy through her body language. Coincidentally, later that evening over dinner, a friend mentioned to me he thought it strange a huge portion of the homeless population in NYC had practically vanished from public without trace.
My rarely used wide-angle lens focuses on various angles of a rainy Times Square.
Everyone seems to react differently to the rain as shown in the following images.
A tour guide beholds the centre of Times Square to a rain-hooded audience.
This couple appeared to cherish the falling raindrops in this and the following photograph.
Another one appreciative of God’s tears.
There’s just something about a nice pair of shoes against wet asphalt — I actually have a good handful of them somewhere in my collection.
And that wraps up my long weekend in NY … I’m now back to Sniping in Sydney. Stay tuned for what’s next! — If you haven’t already, subscribe to my RSS Feed or follow me Facebook for instant notification of new posts.
